National missing persons day
Today is National Missing Persons Day
A day dedicated to raising awareness, honouring those found, and supporting families of the missing. To bring attention to the issue of missing persons, remember those who are still missing, and support families and searches.
Anyone whose whereabouts can’t be established is considered missing until they are found, and their well-being is established or otherwise confirmed.
To report a missing person report them immediately if you are worried about their safety especially if they’re a child or vulnerable adult or in danger. Call 999. You do not have to wait 24hrs to report them missing.
For non-emergencies, call the non-emergency police line on 101 providing as much detail as possible for faster action, as the first few hours are crucial.
