NHS Walk-in Centres
offer fast and convenient access to a range of NHS services, including
health information, advice and treatment for a range of minor medical conditions and minor injuries (strains, sprains,
cuts). Please note this service is not available to children under two years old.
Travelling Abroad?
Please
plan ahead if you require vaccinations. It is essential that you
allow enough time for the appropriate vaccines to be ordered and
given to you. To be effective many vaccinations have to be given
well in advance of travel.
Crow Place Surgery is a Yellow
Fever Centre for both registered and non-registered patients.
Non-NHS
Services For Which A Fee Is Payable
In addition
to the range of NHS services that are provided free at the point
of delivery, we provide services which fall outside the NHS terms
of service, for which a fee is required. The following list is not
exhaustive, but such services include:
• The preparation
of medical reports for insurance companies/solicitors
•
Private certificates
• Conducting medical examinations,
eg for insurance companies, driving medicals, holiday cancellations
•
The completion of medical questionnaires for public/private authorities,
eg OFSTED
• Completion of forms, eg fitness to travel, Gym applications
•
Countersigning of forms, eg driving licence applications
•
Production of letters of reference
• Provision of vaccinations
for holidays
• Private prescriptions.
The fees
for these services are established annually by the British Medical
Association; please ask at reception for the latest prices. Fees
are to be paid at the time that the service is delivered and payment
can be made by cash or cheque payable to Dr Alexander and Partners.
Patient Advice And Liaison Service
For confidential advice and support to patients, families and their carers as well as information on your hospital care or other NHS and health-related matters, you can contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) operated by West Sussex Primary Care Trust on (01293) 572100.
Minor Ailment Service
Your doctor, West Sussex Primary Care Trust and local Community Pharmacists have been working together on a new service. If you would prefer to see a health professional without waiting for an appointment, your local community pharmacist may be able to help. This service will enable the pharmacist to supply a medicine to you from an agreed list if you are suffering from one of the minor illnesses covered by the scheme. Leaflets containing more information are available at the surgery.
