HOW DO I...
MAKE AN APPOINTMENT ?

Our practice nurses see patients by appointment. They have surgeries throughout the day seeing patients with diabetes, respiratory problems such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, ischaemic heart disease and high blood pressure. They also see patients for cervical smears, travel advice and vaccinations, ear syringing, new patient registration checks, family planning and general health promotion. In addition, our health care assistant conducts routine blood tests.

Consultations are by appointment only and can be made by telephone Monday - Friday 8.30am to 6.00pm or in person at the surgery during surgery opening hours (see above) or online by clicking here.

Appointments can be booked at both our Ifield and Crow Place Surgeries and will be allocated to the earliest available doctor. However, should you wish to see a specific doctor, please ask the receptionist.

Urgent appointments - please do not ask for an urgent appointment unless it is really necessary.

If, for any reason, you are unable to attend, please cancel your appointment so that it can be made available to others (please remember, this can be done on-line via the Practice web-site or by leaving a message on the Practice telephone number).

A variety of times are available to meet most circumstances - please contact the reception team.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN A HOME VISIT ?

If you are too ill to attend the surgery, please telephone the surgery as early in the day as you can. The receptionist will ask you to provide some details about the nature of your request and the doctor may contact you for an assessment before visiting.

HOW DO I...
OBTAIN TEST RESULTS ?

These may be obtained by ringing the surgery between 2.00 and 4.00pm. The receptionist may then inform you of the result or she may ask you to arrange an appointment with your doctor to discuss your result.

HOW DO I...
TELEPHONE ADVICE ?

If you need telephone advice you may use the NHS Direct Helpline (see below) or contact your pharmacist. You may speak to the doctor or practice nurse on the phone at the end of surgery at approximately 11.30am each morning.

Alternatively, you may leave a message and one of the surgery team will ring you back with an answer to your query.

Messages will not be left on patients' answer-phones, unless specifically requested, in order to maintain confidentiality.
